Let's Go Fly A Kite

"This post is part of the Moms' 30-Minute Blog Challenge"

We spent a beautiful sunny morning at the Sandy Point beach looking up to the clear blue sky while flying the kites that Aunt Pam brought to the kids.

For Pilot, my 3 year old, a kite in the shape of a plane which, to my surprise, he was able to fly all by himself with an expression on his face of sheer delight and amazement as he watched his kite move side to side in the wind.

I couldn't help but sing along with my 5 year old daughter, "Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest heights. Let's go fly a kite and send it soring..........."

It is the simple pleasures that bring us in touch with nature that nourish us as human beings. Something so ordinary to an adult is magical to a child.  A kite  flying through the sky and rippling in the wind is another way to help your children cultivate deep gratitude for the beautiful earth we live on. It can offer them a greater sense of freedom and movement in the world.
Thank you to Aunt Pam for bringing our awareness upward and giving us wings.

Great pictures! We took our kids recently to a local kite festival and I was impressed that our 3 year old was flying a kite like a pro! It's amazing what they can do.
