My grandfather taught me how to play chess when I was a child. Now, with all the memories of the countless peaceful hours playing with him in my mind, I sit across from my 7 year old as she says, "checkmate". I am sure my grandfather is looking down on us playing on his old chess board with a twinkle in his eye and pride in his heart.
